We have had a good and busy week!
JB started science classes a few weeks ago. The classes are held once a week on Monday, so that started our week off. She is also continuing in ballet/tap class this year which is held on Monday as well.
JB just took her fourth "test" of the year in her Horizons book.
(I am on the lookout for some games or fun ideas for memorizing addition and subtraction facts if anyone has any recommendations! :-) Anything to music would be wonderful. I've seen a few sites online, but so far no fit for us.)
JB is continuing to enjoy reading and these are some of the books she read this week in addition to the Family Time Bible and her NKJ Bible:
For our read aloud time we are finishing up Homer Price and starting The Trumpet of the Swan. We have a little over a chapter to go in Homer Price and we are about four chapters in to The Trumpet of the Swan. (We LOVE it so far!)
We are continuing in the Writing With Ease book and here is a recent sample of copywork that JB completed:
In history we are starting on a notebook project using Evan Moor's Ancient Civilizations History Pockets as our base. Here is JB's cover and also the inside of the book (a copy of an earlier history notebook page that JB made).
We recently started using Institute for Excellence in Writing's poetry memorization program, and JB can recite two of the poems very well. She has also committed Psalm 1 to memory this week! She got up early one morning to memorize the last three verses on her own as a surprise for me! It was so awesome to see her excitement!
And that's a little of what we've been up to this week. :-)
